5 Souls (2013)
Noah wakes up from a coma only to meet the Devil in the flesh, who offers him absolution if he will send off five souls in exchange for his sins. What he doesn't know is the weight that those souls will have on his own... Director Brett Donowho brings us 5 SOULS, a psychological thriller and redemption tale with a twist. While his sense of style is quite pervasive, Donowho is unable to inject enough action or interest into the storytelling to make this a compelling piece. Ian Bohen, Steve Bacic, and Samaire Armstrong provide serviceable enough performances, and try their best to bring out the emotionality in each of their characters. This is the only footing that the film really has, however, as the conspiracy theory behind the building collapses just seems like an ill-designed plot device. 5 SOULS becomes ineffective as a result, and will have trouble finding an audience in the Horror community.
